2001 Contest
WELCOME!
Hello and welcome to the SizeHack 3D competition. I threw together a webpage so you guys will know what it's about. SizeHack 3D is a competition for the Allegro community. The rules are simple:
RULES
1. Download RNDRLIB.C
and RNDRLIB.H to your
computer.
2. Analyze them if you like. Find out what they do, how they work.
3. Use them to make a 3D game. The game must have the following elements
to be entered in the compo:
a) It must have a nice mouse interface (keyboard,
joystick, etc. interfaces can accompany this)
b) It should have some kind of particle system or effects
(at least stars)
c) Most of the gameplay should be
three-dimensional
d) There should be SOME lighting.
e) The number 18 should be present somewhere in the game
(find somewhere interesting :-)
4. The size of your entry must be 20 KB zipped, plus whatever RNDRLIB.C and
RNDRLIB.H are when zipped.

PURPOSE
This compo has three purposes:
1) Self-indulgence on my part. I put the number 18 in because I'm turning
18, thereby ripping off Arron's idea
2) Teaching the Allegro community some 3D programming
3) Making you guys work with 3rd party code, having to get out and download
a library written by someone else
NEWS
So there! Now that you guys know the story, the rules, and the purpose (oh wait, there's no story!) and if you are still insane and want to join, then I should have a sign-up form coming soon. The competition should end in about a month. You can start now if you like. For now, just email me at egreg@mail.com, and tell me what you're doing and anything else you'd like to share (that's related to the entry!) Questions, comments and threats go to the agp@canvaslink.com list if possible, for I know not how to subscribe to the competition list. I hope that's okay. Everyone seems to read agc anyway. :-)
